John Knox Presbyterian Church

Church Seating

Alloyfold is proud to have contributed to the transformation of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Rangiora, a historic landmark with deep roots in the community.

Originally established in 1861, the church was completed in 1872 and has since undergone several significant transformations, including a rebuild after the 2010/2011 Canterbury Earthquakes. These earthquakes caused extensive damage, leading to the demolition of the original church auditorium.

Despite this setback, the church’s congregation remained committed to rebuilding, with plans for a new worship centre and community hub that would better serve the needs of the modern community.

Alloyfold supplied 180 Trilogy chairs, 28 Church chairs, and 12 Church chairs with arms for the church’s chapel (McLauchlan Room) and other spaces, ensuring the new facility was equipped with stylish, durable, and comfortable seating.

The Trilogy chairs, with their lightweight, stackable design and integrated linking system, provide exceptional flexibility, while the Church chairs, featuring padded AirTech foam and optional arms, offer long-term comfort. Additionally, we supplied a Trilogy Chair Trolley to facilitate easy mobility and storage.

With a history that stretches back over 150 years, the John Knox Presbyterian Church continues to play a central role in the Rangiora community, and Alloyfold is honored to have helped create a modern, accessible space that will serve the church and its congregation for many years to come.
