Alloyfold commercial furniture specialist Melissa Sleeman let’s us in on her top picks for this season’s hot conference and event furniture items.
-
Vintage, Vintage, Vintage! Check out Pinterest and you will be inundated with pictures of vintage weddings, parties and events. This can mean country rustic themes - especially when we’re talking weddings - or it can mean hipster chic - think hanging light bulbs, mid century tableware and flowers in jars. We are seeing our rustic wooden vintage crossbacks flying out the door for this category. Just in, our matching farmyard tables are also already attracting huge interest
-
Retro - Off the back of the rustic vintage trend we are seeing an increasing interest in all things retro. Pastel colours and mid-century or 1960’s design, this is the next big thing. Our new styly and hardy vintage aluminum range cover this off this well and will help you get ahead of consumer demand, especially for younger customers.
-
Black is back - For our conference venues, the watchwords are sleek and elegance. This means classic colour schemes and clean lines. Our black lycra chair covers are constantly being picked up by venues wanting to achieve a quick classic look. We are also seeing our Convention and banquet seating customers frequently going for black and white colour items to match a sleek venue theme.
-
Quality - Most customers now recognise that quality is a must with commercial furniture and have experienced the costs of cheap and nasty products that break, rust and frey. Strength, materials, warranty and longevity are the crucial considerations when searching for quality products (e.g. strength and durability of fabric or the relative likelihood of rust). Like most things, cheap is not usually cheap in the end, so our customers are thinking about long-term lifecycle costs.
-
Practicality - Sorry the boring bit, our customers want chairs that are easily linked, stacked and transported. That means lightweight and hardy making them quick to reconfigure or put away without risking damage.
